User Manual - Ascend Desk Controller

Ascend is an intelligent mobile application designed to control and optimize the use of your height-adjustable desk. With Ascend, you can improve your posture, increase your productivity, and take care of your health while working.

  • Download the app from App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
  • Install the app following your device’s instructions
  1. Open the app
  2. Select “Create account” on the welcome screen
  3. You can register via:
    • Email: Enter your email and create a secure password
    • Google: Use your existing Google account
    • Apple ID: (iOS only) Sign in with your Apple ID
  • If you already have an account, select “Sign in”
  • Enter your credentials or use your chosen authentication method
  1. Make sure your device’s Bluetooth is enabled
  2. Verify that your desk is turned on
  1. On the main screen, the app will automatically search for available desks
  2. Select your desk from the list of found devices
  3. If prompted, confirm the pairing
  4. Once connected, you’ll see the active connection indicator

When using the app for the first time, you’ll be presented with an interactive tutorial that will show you:

  • Basic desk controls
  • How to save favorite positions
  • Setting up routines
  • Main app features

The main screen displays:

  • Current height: Real-time display of desk height
  • Connection status: Bluetooth connection indicator
  • Quick controls: Direct access to main functions
  • Up Button (↑): Press and hold to raise the desk
  • Down Button (↓): Press and hold to lower the desk
  • Automatic stop: Release the button to stop movement
  • Slider control: Drag the control to select a specific height
  • Numeric input: Tap the current height to enter an exact value
  • The desk will automatically move to the selected position
  1. Adjust the desk to the desired height
  2. Press the “Save position” button (bookmark icon)
  3. Select a memory slot (1, 2, or 3)
  4. Optionally, assign a name to the position
  • Quick access: Tap any memory button (1, 2, 3) to move the desk to that position
  • Predefined positions:
    • Memory 1: Sitting position
    • Memory 2: Rest position
    • Memory 3: Standing position
  1. Tap the “Routines” button on the main screen
  2. Select “New routine”
  3. Configure:
    • Name: Identify your routine
    • Schedule: Define when to change position
    • Heights: Set heights for each period
    • Active days: Select days of the week
  4. Save the routine
  • Office routine: Alternates between sitting and standing every hour
  • Ergonomic routine: Changes based on health recommendations
  • Custom routine: Create your own pattern
  • Enable/Disable: Use the switch next to each routine
  • Edit: Tap the routine to modify it
  • Delete: Swipe the routine to the left

  • Daily: Summary of the current day
  • Weekly: Trends from the last 7 days
  • Monthly: Analysis of the current month
  • Annual: Overview of the year
  • Sitting time: Total hours in sitting position
  • Standing time: Total hours in standing position
  • Ratio: Ratio between sitting and standing time
  • Daily goal: Progress toward your daily goal
  • Calories burned: Estimate based on standing time
  • Position changes: Number of transitions during the day
  • Active time: Periods of desk usage
  • Day streak: Consecutive days meeting goals
  1. On the statistics screen, tap “Goals”
  2. Set:
    • Daily standing hours: Standing time goal
    • Calorie target: Calorie burning goal
    • Minimum changes: Desired number of position changes
  3. Save your goals
  • Visual indicators: Progress bars and circular charts
  • Notifications: Alerts when you reach your goals
  • History: Record of achieved goals

  1. Go to Settings > Preferences
  2. Select “Language”
  3. Choose from:
    • Spanish
    • English
    • Other available languages
  • Light: Interface with light colors
  • Dark: Night mode to reduce eye strain
  • Automatic: Changes according to time of day
  • Metric system: Centimeters (cm)
  • Imperial system: Inches (in)
  • Posture reminders: Alerts to change position
  • Goals achieved: Celebration of achievements
  • Maintenance: Desk service notices
  • Updates: New features available
  1. Go to Settings > Reminders
  2. Enable desired reminders
  3. Configure:
    • Frequency: Every 30, 45, 60 minutes
    • Active hours: Working hours
    • Days of the week: Working days
    • Sound: Notification tone
  • Name: Your username
  • Profile picture: Select an avatar or upload a photo
  • Email: Account email
  • Phone: Contact number (optional)
  • Change password: Update your security password
  • Two-factor authentication: Enable for increased security
  • Sign out: Exit current account
  • Delete account: Permanently delete your account and data

The assistant can help you with:

  • Voice control: “Raise the desk”, “Standing position”
  • Information: “How long have I been sitting today?”
  • Recommendations: “What’s the ideal height for me?”
  • Configuration: “Change my reminder to every 45 minutes”
  • Troubleshooting: “My desk won’t move”
  1. Type your question or command
  2. Press send
  3. Receive instant response
  1. Tap the microphone icon
  2. Speak your command clearly
  3. The assistant will process and execute the action
  • You can share screenshots to report issues
  • Send documents for specific queries
  • Access previous conversations
  • Search for previous answers
  • Export important conversations

  1. Verify that Bluetooth is enabled
  2. Make sure the desk is turned on
  3. Restart device Bluetooth
  4. Get closer to the desk (maximum range: 10 meters)
  • Avoid obstacles between device and desk
  • Close other apps using Bluetooth
  • Update app to latest version
  1. Check Bluetooth connection
  2. Check for physical obstacles
  3. Review configured height limits
  4. Restart the desk (turn off and on)
  • Check speed settings
  • Check weight on desk
  • Contact technical support if issue persists
  1. Update to latest version
  2. Restart your device
  3. Reinstall app if necessary
  4. Contact support with error code
  • Check your Internet connection
  • Sign out and sign in again
  • Check storage space

  2. Browse frequently asked questions
  3. Search for solutions by category
  • Available Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Access from Settings > Support > Live chat

When contacting support, have ready:

  • Device: Phone or tablet model
  • Operating system: iOS or Android version
  • App version: Available in Settings > About
  • Desk model: Found on the device label
  • Error code: If displayed

The app can generate a diagnostic report that includes:

  • Connection logs
  • Usage statistics
  • Error history
  • System configuration

To generate report:

  1. Go to Settings > Support
  2. Select “Generate diagnostic report”
  3. Share with technical support

Q: Is the app free? A: Yes, the app is free to download and use with basic features. Premium features are available with subscription.

Q: Can I use the app without Internet? A: Yes, basic control functions work offline. Statistics and sync require Internet connection.

Q: How many desks can I connect? A: You can save up to 5 desks in the app and switch between them.

Q: What is the Bluetooth range? A: The typical range is 10 meters without obstacles.

Q: Can I control the desk from multiple devices? A: Yes, but only one device can be actively connected at a time.

Q: Can I export my statistics? A: Yes, you can export your data in CSV or PDF format from the statistics screen.

Q: Are routines customizable? A: Yes, you can create fully customized routines or modify predefined ones.

Q: Is my data secure? A: Yes, all data is encrypted and stored securely according to privacy standards.

Q: Can I delete my data? A: Yes, you can delete all your data from Settings > Privacy > Delete data.

  • Space: Pause/resume movement
  • ↑/↓ arrows: Manual control

  1. Save battery: Disable Bluetooth when not using the desk
  2. Ideal height: Elbows at 90° when typing
  3. Frequency: Change position at least every hour
  4. Calibration: Calibrate the desk monthly for precision
  5. Routines: Start with short intervals and gradually increase
  • Double tap: On current height to quickly enter a value
  • Long press: On memory button to overwrite position
  • Swipe: Between screens for quick navigation
  • Shake: Device to stop desk movement (emergency)

  • Keep liquids away from control mechanism

Sitting Position

  • Feet flat on floor
  • Knees at 90°
  • Back supported
  • Screen at eye level

Standing Position

  • Weight evenly distributed
  • Shoulders relaxed
  • Elbows at 90° when typing
  • Anti-fatigue mat recommended
