Memory Positions

Your Ascend desk features three memory positions that you can customize and use for quick changes between your favorite heights.

Commands to activate:

  • “Go to position 1”
  • “Sitting position”
  • “Memory 1”
  • “Activate one”

Characteristics:

  • Typical height: 75-80 cm
  • Recommended use: Deep work, prolonged writing
  • Suggested duration: 20-45 minutes

Commands to activate:

  • “Change to position 2”
  • “Intermediate position”
  • “Memory 2”
  • “Medium height”

Characteristics:

  • Typical height: 90-95 cm
  • Recommended use: Transitions, collaborative work
  • Suggested duration: 5-15 minutes

Commands to activate:

  • “Activate position 3”
  • “Standing position”
  • “Memory 3”
  • “Standing position”

Characteristics:

  • Typical height: 110-120 cm
  • Recommended use: Calls, brainstorming, energizing
  • Suggested duration: 8-30 minutes

Morning (High energy):

  1. Start in Memory 1 (sitting) - deep work
  2. Every 20 minutes alternate to Memory 3 (standing)
  3. Use Memory 2 (intermediate) for transitions

Afternoon (Medium energy):

  1. More time in Memory 1 for concentration
  2. Memory 3 for meetings and calls
  3. Memory 2 for administrative tasks

Memory 1 - Analytical Work:

  • Programming
  • Writing
  • Data analysis
  • Precision tasks

Memory 2 - Collaborative Work:

  • Virtual meetings
  • Quick reviews
  • Transitions between tasks

Memory 3 - Creative Work:

  • Brainstorming
  • Presentations
  • Phone calls
  • Energizing exercises
  • Adjust according to your height: Typical heights are references
  • Consider your footwear: Different shoes = different heights
  • Include accessories: Anti-fatigue mat, monitor arms, etc.
  • Review monthly: Your needs may change
  • Update by season: Different footwear in winter/summer
  • Share with family: If multiple users use the desk
